Glenn Frey, co-founder of the Eagles, died Monday of Rheumatoid Arthritis, Acute Ulcerative Colitis and Pneumonia. He was 67. Frey rose to fame in the early 1970's as a member of the Eagles, singing lead on such hits as "Take It Easy", "Tequila Sunrise", "Lyin' Eyes", "New Kid In Town", "Already Gone" and "Heartache Tonight".
After the Eagles disbanded in 1980, Frey began a successful solo career, charting such hits as "I Found Somebody", "The One You Love", "Smugglers Blues", "The Heat Is On" and "You Belong to the City".
When the Eagles reformed in 1994 for the "Hell Freezes Over" tour, Frey sang vocals on one of the bands three new songs, "The Girl from Yesterday".
In 2007, the Eagles released a long awaited album, "Long Road Out of Eden" (at the time, their first album in 28 years). Frey sang lead on such songs as "How Long" and "What Do I Do with My Heart".
As a member of the Eagles, Frey was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. With the Eagles and as a solo artist, Frey scored a total of 24 top 40 hits in his career.
